Glasgow Tramcar number 812

Glasgow Tram number 812. Polychromos pencils on Clare Fontaine Pastelmat.

This is my latest commission for an old friend who lives in Scotland. It should bring fond memories of his youth, riding on the top deck of one of these trams.

Tram 812 was built in 1900, it underwent many upgrades and modifications during it’s life and worked right through to the early 1960s when Glasgow decided to close the tram system down. It is now preserved and still carries passengers at the National Tramway Museum in Crich, Derbyshire. This drawing depicts 812 in its preserved condition.
