Great Tit

Pastel Pencil on ClaireFonteyne PastelMat, image size 7.75″ x 10.75″.

I did a small watercolour sketch of this bird while on holiday and liked his pose so much I decided to do a bigger pastel version.  The background was painted with a watercolour wash, I just needed a subtle shade to reflect the colour of the bird.  This little chap visits our bird feeders every day and I just couldn’t resist painting him.

The original reference photo was taken by myself using a Nikon D3200 and 300mm tele lens, I have included this and my watercolour sketch below.
